Chicago Ranks No. 1 on Orkin’s Bed Bug Cities List
Chicago settled in for the second year in a row as the No. 1 city on Orkin’s 2022 Top 50 Bed Bug Cities List, with Philadelphia and New York moving into the second and third place spots, respectively. These two Northeast cities saw the largest jumps, with Philadelphia moving up 12 spots and New York moving up nine spots. As for newcomers to the list, Harrisburg, Pa., landed at No. 42, and Lincoln, Neb., barely snuck in at No. 50.
The list is based on treatment data from the metro areas where Orkin performed the most bed bug treatments from Dec. 1, 2020-Nov. 30, 2021. The ranking includes both residential and commercial treatments.

GreenTech Heat Introduces Titan Thermostat System
GreenTech said it has engineered the safety and convenience of an electric heater into its Titan direct-fired heaters with its patent-pending Titan Thermostat System. The company said the system creates the first true thermostatically controlled, portable direct-fired propane insect heater. GreenTech said that unlike other systems that shut off the flow of propane at a predetermined temperature and require operator intervention to resume heating, its system maintains the jobsite temperature both by turning off the fuel flow when the jobsite achieves maximum temperatures and restarts the Titan heater when probe temperature decreases by 10 degrees Fahrenheit.
For many years, GreenTech Heat Solutions said it has shipped the Titan 450 and Titan 800 with integrated thermometers, which show the temperature of the treatment air exiting the heater barrel so the technician can manually adjust the REGO valve and control the propane flow and heat. The Titan Thermostat System provides automatic heater control, which switches off the heater when a specific temperature is achieved, according to the company. The Titan Thermostat System can be retrofitted and integrated onto any current Titan heater. All new Titan 450 and Titan 800 heaters now come standard with the Titan Thermostat System.
