Earlier this year, Massey Services, Orlando, announced the donation of $25,000 to OCA (Opportunity Community Ability) of Orlando. The donation will support the organization’s weekly dance and music therapy classes along with covering the costs for the group’s theater week. It also will help support the productions at the Running Man Theatre and the musical theatre troupe. OCA’s mission is to enable individuals and families with autism or other disabilities the opportunity to maximize their abilities through functional, behavioral, social, recreational and vocational programs to live within the community.
Schenectady, N.Y.’s Thomas Pest Services hosted a month-long campaign to raise awareness and funds for National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month. Owners Bill Clark and Sarah Thomas-Clark do so in honor of their 5-year-old daughter Riley, who was diagnosed with right side spastic hemiplegia at age 1½. The Thomas team wore green T-shirts every Friday in March (see photo); green is the color for CP awareness. In addition, the company held a customer contest to help raise awareness and provided free services for the customers who participated.
McCall Service announced the acquisition of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.-based First Coast Wildlife and Expel earlier this year. The acquisition of Expel adds to the existing pest control business of McCall’s Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa service areas. The acquisition of First Coast Wildlife expands McCall’s presence and expertise in the wildlife control and exclusion business throughout its entire service area. Kyle Waltz, former owner of First Coast Wildlife and Expel, will be leading McCall’s wildlife control and exclusion services division in addition to taking a leading role with McCall as it continues growing and building for the future, the company said.
Go-Forth Pest Control recently purchased a new headquarters building in Greensboro, N.C. The 61-year-old third generation family-owned company will be relocating its corporate team and its entire Triad service branch from High Point to the new 24,000-square-foot location. Chase Hazelwood, owner and CEO, says the new space will allow the entire corporate and Triad teams to now be under one roof, and it will feature a larger break room and multiple collaboration spaces. Those features, along with sufficient parking for the company’s entire fleet, will allow for larger on-site group meetings and parties, which the company currently has to hold off-site.
