Bell Laboratories
Bell Laboratories has introduced its new FASTRAC rodent bait, designed to successfully blend the best of the previous formulation with significant improvements, the firm says.
Palatability of new FASTRAC has been improved by up to 40 percent, the company says. The bait’s new preservative system is designed to inhibit mold growth even under harsh conditions. And the new highly weatherable formula also incorporates less wax, which dramatically increases its melting point, Bell says.
According to Bell, Norway rats, roof rats and house mice cease feeding after consuming a toxic dose. Rodents can consume a lethal dose in a single night’s feeding, reducing the amount of bait required to achieve control, the company says. FASTRAC is now formulated in a distinctive purple color and is available in updated packaging, all designed to let PMPs know they are using the newest formulation. The product is available in blox and pelleted place pacs, packaged in 4-pound pails.

MGK
MGK has launched two new Evergreen products. According to MGK, Evergreen Pyrethrum Concentrate and Evergreen Pyrethrum Dust kill a broad spectrum of insects both indoors and outdoors using pure botanical insecticide. There is no synergist added and the fast-acting pyrethrins photo-degrade rapidly in sunlight, the company says, making Evergreen products sensible for most IPM protocols.
MGK uses a proprietary refining process that meets organic guidelines, enabling both products to be OMRI listed for use in organic food- and livestock-processing facilities. In addition to organically compliant locations, the products have a wide range of use sites including homes, hotels, hospitals, apartments, office buildings, restaurants, and conventional food and livestock facilities. Both products are registered for sale and use by EPA in all states except for Evergreen Pyrethrum Concentrate, where applications are pending in Florida, Maine and New York.

Advantage Yellow Jacket Traps offer the economical benefits of a re-useable trap with the cleanliness and convenience of disposable liners. The traps are designed to be easy to use: PCOs simply mix water with the new and improved Yellow Jacket lure right in the disposable liner, the company says. According to J.F. Oakes, the traps are created with a unique chimney effect allowing the traps to disperse attractant over a large area. Top and bottom entry holes pull air in and attractants are dispersed out 30 feet or more in all directions. Advantage Yellow Jacket Traps do not require electricity. Once inside the trap, Yellow Jackets cannot get out, the manufacturer says.

Syngenta
Syngenta announced that it supports a FIFRA Section 2(ee) recommendation for use of Demand CS and Demand EZ insecticides with iCAP technology to control the brown marmorated stink bug (Halyomorpha halys) and kudzu (or globular) stink bug (Megacopta cribraria) on outdoor surfaces.
Brown marmorated and kudzu stink bugs are additions to the labels for Demand CS and Demand EZ, which already include more than 30 other common insects and pests. The patented iCAP-technology formulation of these microencapsulated products includes dual-walled construction to provide strength and controlled release of the active ingredient, lambda-cyhalothrin, Syngenta says. A mixture of capsule sizes, ranging from 5 to 22 microns, provides extended residual control. The smaller capsules quickly release while the larger capsules release the active ingredient slowly to lengthen the control.
PMPs can view the full Section 2(ee) recommendation and a list of the states where it is applicable in the Demand product sections of the Syngenta website, www.syngentapmp.com. Syngenta says PMPs applying Demand for stink bug control should have a copy of the label and the recommendation with them when treating for these pests.
