CLEVELAND - A positive online review is a gift that keeps on giving. For potential customers who see that others have had a positive experience with your pest control business, a positive online review can be deal-clincher.
There are many review websites out there, most of which require some amount of attention, but which ones are most critical to pest control businesses.
PCT posed the following question in our most recent reader poll: Which of the following review websites do you think generates the most leads for your business?
Google My Business was the clear-cut top choice (86 percent).
“We get the most leads from Google,” said Maria Sorrentino, president of Pest Pros of Michigan, Portage, Mich. “That's the only place we invest as it's got the best returns for us. “
Eric Hoffer, CEO of Hoffer Pest Solutions, Coral Springs, Fla., said that the other sites mentioned in PCT’s poll do provide some decent leads, “but I think it is easiest to associate a lead with Google that is why I can confirm, leads from them. Yelp would come in number No. 2, but that is a limited market - it seems in the home services category.”
Yelp (7 percent) also came in No. 2 in PCT’s poll, followed by Facebook (5 percent) and HomeAdvisor (2 percent).
Sorrentino said Pest Pros “does occasionally get leads from Facebook. Those leads tend to be more relational as they interact with us and our community.”
One of PCT’s LinkedIn followers, Catherine E., commented: I think you may have missed one that seems to be generating quite a bit of new business for us this year. Next Door. Neighbors talk.
